Eff it! The Laundry Can Wait

When was the last time you just got in the car and drove?  It ain’t easy especially when you’ve got people you’re responsible for (kids) or you live in a highly populated area (traffic).

I was mid laundry load on a Sunday when I said “Fuck it.  Laundry can wait.”  I grabbed a jug of water, hopped in my car and drove two hour north to a place I can only describe as magical–Sedona, Arizona.  Damn, that felt good.  With work, kid, husband, responsibility –I don’t remember the last time I went on a solo adventure in the spur of a moment that didn’t include the parking lot of an Ikea.  I had a glass of wine,  prayed at a church that’s built into a rock, and hiked up a mountain to find an invisible vortex.  I was home by 6, threw another laundry load into the washer by 6:30, showered and in bed by 8–feeling exhausted but invigorated.

There is a whole world that I want to see and I’m gonna see it…the laundry can wait.
